Top Tips: Writing a fiction novel

A number of months ago, I was asked to participate in an online writing workshop charity even to raise money for Greyhound rescue. It was called Ellie’s Wordfest and it was a week long event on Facebook (made available to attendees until the middle of the year) where many of the best writers of Australian and New Zealand romance shared writing, self-publishing and marketing tips.

I was asked to make a video on my top tips when writing a manuscript to make it shine.

Given I usually work one on one with authors through my manuscript assessment and mentoring business, it was the first time I had ever presented a workshop/lecture on the subject.

It was a fun experience, filming it (with everyone home due to Covid-19 it was a challenge to get the quiet and space I needed, but I finally managed it), learning some new editing software with the help of my son and getting it uploaded. It got some great responses from attendees of Ellie’s Wordfest and now that it is free to be posted elsewhere, I thought I’d share it here with you.
