Melbourne Writers Festival, Davitt Awards and Ruby Finalist – a big week

This week has been a big one for me in regards to announcements. I’ve already written a post about Moon Bound, Book 2 in the Pack Bound Series, being in the finals of the RUBY Awards – woohoo! There is a full list of RUBY finalists here in Ebony McKenna’s Ruby Read-a-long:

Or here at, fast becoming the largest romance blogging site in Australia for everything romance:

So excited that Moon Bound is on this list!

If you are looking for something to read, then these lists are a great place to start.

But becoming a RUBY finalist is not the only thing that has happened this week, and because it’s all come at once, I need to announce the other two big things all at once.

Dangerous Echoes, Book 1 of the Echo Springs Series, (the 4 book series, Echo Springs, was the top 3 romance in Australia for the couple of months after it was released) has been nominated for the Sister’s In Crime Davitt Awards. Given the list of books nominated – an astonishing 127 books in total, all written by Australian authors featuring crime/suspense/mystery of some sort – featuring some of Australia’s top authors, I have no expectations that it will move into the short list, but, it truly is lovely to be nominated.

You can see the complete, amazing list of nominated books here – if you’re looking for some great reads, this is the place to start (after you’ve read through the list of RUBY Finalists above πŸ™‚ )

Then, the final, amazing thing, which I’ve been keeping a lid on for some time, but can now reveal, is that not only is the Melbourne Writers Festival’s theme this year, ‘When We Talk About Love’, but they have an amazing array of romance themed workshops and panels, one of which I am on! It was a thrill to be invited to chat with fellow romance authors, Daniel deLorne (who I worked on the Echo Springs Series with) and multi-published best selling romance author, Clare Connelly. The panel is called: A Swelling in his Loins, and it’s going to be a fascinating discussion with those 2 amazing writers, ably moderated by Maria Lewis – I can’t wait.

You can find out more and book tickets here:

Well, that’s all from me for now. I hope to see you at the MWF and in the meantime, grab my Pack Bound Series for an award nominated read! πŸ™‚
